Moody's Investors Service has
postponed new bank ratings criteria following market concerns. Two weeks ago,
Moody's upgraded a number of Nordic banks, including giants
Nordea and
Danske Bank, to AAA based on a new "
joint default analysis (
JDA)," the idea that governments would back these banks. After an uproar, however, the agency is "
considering refinements" and may backtrack on some of its upgrades.
